iOS 7 - This is a big week

Update 9/26/2013: Ken posted his iOS 7 presentation to YouTube for you to review.

No need to get up early to begin your download, at least one site indicates that the new mobile operating system, iOS 7, will be available beginning at 10 AM Pacific Time.
There is a lot of work to do BEFORE you upgrade anyway! For example: Confirm that your critical apps will run under iOS 7.

This Friday will be a good time to attend our noon meeting to see if you are ready to download and install. KenSpencer from MacNexus and EmpowerMac will be our guide. MacNexus is the Sacramento Mac User Group and members have access to workshops with experts. Read about Seven Things to Do Before Installing iOS 7 from the Gotta Be Mobile site and You might Want to Wait Before Updating Some Devices to iOS 7 from OSXDaily (both recommended by Ranny). This is a good time to use the READER button in the Safari address bar to get all the ads out-of-the-way. Rik Larson is researching and liked this UK Telegraph article. It includes information on making backups.

Reader button appears at the right edge of Safari's Address Bar.

iCloud Photo Sharing where your people can comment and upload their pictures. Want to know more? Read and watch videos from Apple's iOS What's New page.

One note of caution: BACKUP before install. If you don't know what this means, attend on Friday.

The volunteer presenters of the Apple Support Group will be demonstrating features of iOS 7 soon. We are not Apple employees, computer experts or troubleshooters. See our Resource Guide page if you are hesitant to upgrade.

If you have the iBooks app, get the iPad User Guide for iOS 7 from the iBooks Store.
