Research and Play: We Present

Ranny seeks some volunteers to meet with her at 9:00 on Monday (2/25) at Panera on El Camino near Watt Ave (and See’s Candy). She will use the group to give feedback on her upcoming seminar on iCloud.

Several topics will be presented by “volunteers” throughout the semester. Ranny solicited a few volunteers to assist the presenters. The following members came forward:

March 22nd – Anne, Marilyn, and Jean will speak on Passbook
April 5th – Pete Lozzi (EmpowerMac) will speak on Innovate iOS Apps
April 12th – Karen, Eva and Martha will speak about IM Messaging.
April 19th -- Elas, Ric & Rosemary will speak on Passwords
April 26th - Mary will talk about Face Time and Skype & FaceTime
May 3rd. Pac will present Managing Apple ID’s & Passwords.

The iPhone group was asked to provide volunteers to team up to talk about the Bump app and “Siri”. Questions to address during these presentations include:
  • The name of the app
  • The cost of the app.
  • What does it do?
  • Where to get the app.
  • What you like or dislike about it.
  • Demonstrate the app and how to use it.
For our March 15th meeting, Ranny quickly solicited more “volunteers” to give presentations about several Resources by answering similar questions as above and also whether the resource is just tips and tricks or a complete manual and what the volunteers learned from it. These resource presentations will include:
  • Apple On-Line Manual – Stan, Alex, Mary
  • Apple On-Line Support – Karen, Patricia, Pinta, John
  • SCO Tutor – Jennifer, Nancy, Kay
  • AT&T Device How To – Melody, Emma, Cathy, Sheila
  • Missing Manual for iPad, iPhone, etc. – Kathleen, Patty, Terry, Bob
Our seminar co-cordinators will provide the device-to-projector hookups, and respond to email questions from presenters.
