Friday, March 20: Sharing

First Day of Spring!

Jennifer Kerr and Melissa Green will talk about ways to share your stuff. Jennifer will explain the new Family Sharing plan and Melissa will describe ways to share other things, such as photos using Dropbox and Apple's iCloud Photo Sharing. Here is her handout as a PDF and her invitation to join Dropbox - you'll never need a USB Thumb Drive again.

The Hot Tip will be Following Your Own Footsteps with Melissa. Step aside NSA! Try this on your iPhone (where you have a GPS sensor and if Location is turned on):
Settings > Privacy > Location Services (scroll down to the bottom of the page) > System Services > Frequent Locations. Now explore what your iPhone knows about where you've been.

The Resources You Can Use will be apple.com support with Jennifer.

Before class, we will show the fourth and final episode of Geospatial Revolution, the Penn State video about how location and data are linked to change our lives. This one covers preventing famine, tracking disease, monitoring global climate change and mapping communities never before on a map.
We'll start about 11:40.
