Bonus: To make your phone ring shorter or longer than the default 20 seconds before going to voice mail (capability depends on carrier – AT&T works):
  1. On your phone, dial: *#61#   >Call
  2. Text on screen: Setting interrogation succeeded, voice call forwarding, when unanswered forwards to:   +11 digit number. Record this number  >Dismiss
  3. Enter *61*+11 digit number, followed by *ring time# (where ring time = number of seconds for ringing). The finished code should resemble:
    *61*+11 digit numberXX#.   >Call
  4. Should receive message: Succeeded   >Dismiss
  5. The next call you receive should have the ring time you selected.

Other new stuff that needs a review but not enough information/time/energy to cover:
  • iCloud Drive – Syncs/shares/stores (Wait for OS X Yosemite)
  • Apple Pay (October?)
  • iBooks (New organization)
  • Face Time (Call waiting)

YOU DON'T NEED AN APP FOR THAT

You have several choices for your search engine. Go to:
Settings > Safari > Search Engine > Google (or one of the other options)

Click on Safari and go to the Smart Search Field at the top of the page. Type in the function you want to accomplish then the details. See examples:

TRANSLATE "where is the train station" to French (or any language) will also speak it

CONVERT
dollars to any other currency
ounces to liters
pounds to kilograms
miles to kilometers
fahrenheit to Celsius

DEFINE a word in the dictionary

TO CHECK THE STATUS OF A FLIGHT, just type in the airline and the flight number:
United flight 415
gives you the time the flight arrives and the gate number

TO BOOK A FLIGHT - type Flights in the smart field and click on Google flights NOT Kayak or Cheapoair. Fill in the template and see all the options. It will suggest if there is a cheaper day to fly or maybe a cheaper city nearby
