- Texting vs Emailing - 30 years & younger are always on texting. Texting shortcuts for seniors! Techie interview: Why Text, Why Email? Email can be encoded, easily printed and archived.
- iMessage is Apple to Apple devices and is encrypted communication; text is over cellular service and is pay-for-use or texting plan.
- Texting/iMessage is quick messages, status, on-the-go.
- Beware replying to text request for account information because spouse's phone could be stolen along with purse or wallet and ATM card.
- Use the microphone to dictate words to iMessage or email in iOS 6.

- If you do presentations, Disable Preview of incoming messages in Settings.
- iMessage from Contacts includes a picture of the person.
- Messages is the Green icon app. Can send to one person or send to several people. Can send images or save images that come as attachments. In Settings you can have alert sounds for incoming messages. Use Share button to select message or picture and forward or delete. Can also Clear Conversation.
- Sounds - Settings > Notifications > Text Tones > listen to sounds. Can also set a specific sound for individuals through Contacts.
