Pete's Favorite Apps

You are in for a treat! Pete Lozzi will share thoughts on The Future of iOS - Where iPhones and iPads will Take Us or something to that effect on Friday, April 5th. Pete has an energetic presentation style and is full of good humor. He is currently on the Board of Directors for MacNexus, the Macintosh User Group and is the MC for the monthly meetings. Pete is also an instructor for MacNexus classes and a partner in EmpowerMac, Sacramento's Macintosh/iOS training, troubleshooting and installation specialists.

I first met Pete when he was working for Apple and assigned to the CompUSA store on Alta Arden. He would hold workshops in the evenings and I still have notes about GarageBand, iPhoto and Video Scrapbooking with Keynote. Yes, circa 2006! -- Melissa

There's something you can scan barcode
Has pages for all chain restaurants
Tracking system
Wifi scale. $99 step on it and info gets right into the app. Fitbit brand
Reports on various things. Lots of biometrics.

Heart fitness. Put your finger on the camera and measures your heartbeat.
It will log in the information.

Ability to take text and map it to a shape. Place text on a path
Difference between vector and bitmap.
Bitmap is bits, but vector is mathematical calculations. You can only get bitmap so big before it gets blurry. Vector is better.

Dropbox and Evernote

Install on any device at Dropbox.com
It will install easily
Anything you put in that folder immediately becomes available on any device you own.
Anything is readable.
Passwords will be the same across all your devices. You can have things that are just for ourself, things you want to share with certain people and things that anybody can see. You can also put a link to one document so you can send that document without giving access to your Dropbox.
Comes free with 2g storage. For $99 per year you can get all the space you'll ever need. But most of us will not need that amount of storage.
